local copy of your blog to test changes: how to move it back to server (RSS)

    Hi,

I have just discovered that if you want to play with posts/skins/structure in your blog, it's much faster (and safer) to make a local copy. Changes take place instantly.

But now, I have a problem about how to move the changes to the version on my server.

If the changes are just cosmetic, moving the theme and plugins folders is ok.

If you made posts, static pages etc (or altered the hierarchy of pages, or categories etc) you can move the stuff back by copying the Mysql database.

BUT! if you do this, the RSS feed will not catch the new posts you made offline!

    Any solutions for this?

    Thanks!

In your test environment, how would posts or categories structure changes constitute the need to do this in test?

I understand my you would want to test your coding and layout changes but not sure about the post part?

I would just make those entries on your "production" environment.

Not sure if I am missing something.
