Load Balancing Structures for Web servers

Hiya everyone, can someone direct me to a site with a good graphical representation and instructions for a Load Balancing Set-up for a Site.

I'm thinking of having Multiple servers from Different Hosting companies and Set-up a Load Balancing application for fail-safe.

What do you think?
