Ya little beauty!! Liverpool have been given a place in the first qualifying round of the Champions League. I honestly hadn't given them a chance. My theory is, that it's all about the money it will be bringing in to the competition rather than about Liverpool defending their title.

If it had been about defedning their title they would have been put straight into the group stages. However, I'm not really complaining

First game could be on my birthday... 12th July

 

I'm hoping they draw Everton in the qualifiers, that would be an entertaining game. I'm amazed I've witnessed the day that the FA made a sensible decision and u-turn.

It wasn't the FA, it was UEFA that changed their minds and allowed Liverpool to play. Apparently the prize money for the English clubs is going to get split 5 ways instead of 4 so there's going to be uproar. lol

 

Was putting Liverpool in the competition an FA decision then, or was it sanctioned by UEFA?

 

okay okay UEFA then, I'm equally surprised that they did a u-turn. If all English teams do qualify it will mean a 1/4 of premiership teams will be in the "Champions" League which doesn't seem right but I'm not complaining .

I'm just really excited about next season again. I wasn't looking forward to Liverpool not being in the Champions League but they've creeped in for the second season in a row!!! It's a great season for Liverpool teams!

You should be excited. One Quarter of all Premiership teams now have a whole heap of extra games to play which means that your team now has a better chance of doing well
