LIVE vs Google

    Can someone help explain to me:

    Why my site would be listed on LIVE on the second page, and yet in Google I can't even find it? Yet sites that I am way ahead of in LIVE are up near the top in Google?

    Sorry for the newbie question

    Live search and Google search use different algorithms to calculate what ranks where for each keyword - what you have done for your site is likely better optimised for Live than Google.

    I have the oppisite trouble... as far as I have seen, Live only indexed one page of my site. With over 900 pages of original content, that is a little frustrating.

    Thanks for your feedback.

    How do I identify what I needs to be done to optimise better for google.

    The odd thing is, back in june, I was on googles front page for 2.5 weeks!
    Now I am no-where to be found!

    Maybe I'm just stating the obvious, but the tools in Windows Live and Google Pack seem to have a lot in common. Some of the tools are similar -- security, mapping, search, IM and voice. But the two download pages are laid out in almost the same way -- a short explanation at the top with the downloads laid out in a two-column table. Kind of emphasizes the head-to-head competition brewing between the two companies.
