Live redesigned their search results. Looking really nice. I think made some changes too. Super fast and the results look pretty decent.
Well that's another reason Google is number 1. Alot of times if I want to visit a site or want to tell someone about a site, I just tell them to type xxxxxxxxx into google and you will find it on lets say page 1 or page 2 etc etc. I think Google realizes that and makes changes slowly.
I had all my pages droped and I now have 10 msn bots every day maybe they are finaly getting everything togeather.
not any more. Major shake up means that they appear to be valuing backlinks a bit more than previously. Some of the results are stinky (apparently do a search for "cats" on live.com to see how rubbish they are)
Yes it seems a really big MSN update occured. Look at the Search Engine Update Monitor - 62% of sites gone from the first page!
yes their algorith has changed!!! I had all top positions and now gone instead all these crappy sites that didnt even have a top 20 position prior now have top rankings What the?????
plus what the hell is this???? I typed in fishing rods in the au live search in which i previously had a no 1 position this is supposed to show as either www.fishingtackleshop.com.au or www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/index.htm yet the result shows this result below??? I dont have a page with this url extention? but it shows it? http://www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/?OID=aushopfish
One of my sites got killed in MSN. From number one to gone. Many of my links came from directories, I wonder if they have devalued directory links.
well i ended up speaking to my SEO company and they said that the /?OID=aushopfish part in my link that now shows up for my result is infact an affiliate tracking id, I use clix galore affiliate marketing to increase my sales and apparantly the bots have followed one of the links and indexed the link instead of my natural link www.fishingtackleshop.com.au.. thats just great!! now I will be paying some one comission for sales that really shouldnt have been paid because my natural link should have been there in its place.! If that makes sense
It shows that your affiliate promoted his aff. link better . This occured because you have wrong affiliate system implementation. Right implementation is to set tracking cookie and redirect to the original page. In that case you will not have duplicate content.
For those of you that have noticed drops in rankings for your sites, any idea of how to combat the algorithm change and get your sites back up to where they should be? Anybody notice a common theme among the sites that are ranking above yours?
They are attempting to get a bigger SE market share from Google. Check this article: http://www.funkyfreshdesigns.com/viewtopic.php?t=15471
Its amazing.... I changed my option to return 100 results in one page.... And it returned the results in seconds... Also the new colors of links and titles are great and looks like google... one of the reason I dislike live search was their color combo but now it looks better than Google... The Page Looks Neat
