Now that MSN Search redirects all visitors to Live.com (Live Search), AWStats is not able anymore to count these visitors as coming from the Microsoft search engine. Simple changes in the search-engines.pm file solve the problem : Live Search & AWStats. Jean-Luc
This won't affect that, this just makes sure awstats records all of your MSN reffered traffic correctly.
Great tip! I dont usually check awestats that much anyway. Does it affect any other web site trackers or is it just isolated to Awestats?
What do you mean that? Do you mean AWStats will not count the traffic from MSN, and combine it into live.com? My site use AWStats service, but can't see the difference until now.
Live.com uses several URL's. When the old URL's (search.msn.***) are used, there is no stats problem, but when the new URL (search.live.com) is used, your copy of AWStats cannot recognize these users as Live.com users, if it has not been updated as explained in my first post. Jean-Luc
