'Live' e-books - good idea?

    Hi,

I've been asked by a client to produce a 'live' e-book of a section of his website i.e. he can distribute a .exe file, which needs an internet connection and basically acts as a web browser.

Firstly, does anyone know of any (preferably free!) software to do this?

And secondly, is it a good idea? He wants google ads showing, and I'm not sure whether it's against their terms of service. A static e-book won't work as it won't then show the ads.

Finally, has anyone got any thoughts on whether it's a worthwhile exercise - it's quite different from what I normally do!

    Many thanks for your input,
    Emma

See... what he basically wants... he wants you to create a section in his website that is ofcourse ebook section and with that .exe which is surely acting as browser will direct to the section of the website and it will open up in computer...

there is nothing against google terms as you are saving pages in your server and just showing the page in a different browser - which you have designed - to the user...

No problem in it - i think there are few free ebook creator software - but here you need to create a browser i think... and if not then you are on a easy go - just simply create one html and then using any free ebook creator software redirect the page to your website - that's it

every processing will be done on your website...

    I hope this helps...

    Thanks infogle :D

I hadn't really considered that as far as Google is concerned, it's just another web browser and in fact, the referrer is going to be the website that the exe file connects to.

I'm going to go and search for a few ebook compilers and have a play!

    Cheers,
    Emma

Its not a good idea due to many downside.

Its not worth it coz you can earn more by making normal ebook and putting affiliate link into the ebook.
