    Hey everyone.

I am not going to rant in a bad way, but what does everyone think of building your reputation. I am not talking about DP or anything. I am talking about your profile on the World Wide Web.

Imagine for one second you create a unique nickname 8-9 years back and building your reputation online to a fantastic extent.

Personally my name is associated with over 650 odd entries (plus over 400 more entries you won't find in google because it hasn't been indexed) and yet now I find people who want to jump the gun and 'try' to associate themselves with me.

They literally took the unique name I created and just took away the 'e' at the end and now they are being listed in conjunction with my name online.

    What does someone think?

Believe me this name is pretty unique and it seems people are getting clever. Of course their stuff won't show up on the search engines unless someone searches for my name...but it's still a major problem.

So I have decided to take the next step and Trademark the name.

Has anyone else ever experienced something similar? What did you do?

When is it okay to trademark your unique logo and name? Personally I would suggest that if people have something good, and they know they will use it for ages that they should think of trademarking it. I am just sorry I left it till now to do anything about it. I didn't think for one second someone would be so stupid as to try and take the name and do something with it.

It's not popular in a major sense if you know what I mean, but it is definitely what defines me, my music and lots of other things. I own the domain to it as well.

So what does everyone else think?

I mean it can apply to even having a unique nickname on a forum. Imagine building your reputation on DP and then someone comes in a year later and registers a nickname similar to yours with one letter different and then goes around posting. I bet you won't be impressed.
