WHen you talk about a few more users are you how many are you talking about.

How many unique visitors a day do you get at your site?

First make sure you have lots of traffic. The more traffic you've got, the more chance that a person will click the ads. I would say not less than 400 unique visitors/month before starting advertsing.

Your earnings are going to be low with a new site and a small number of visitors. This will change with the more visitors you get.

If you can don't concentrate on the Adsense for now. The setup looks fine so spend your time wisely on trying to get more traffic. Trust me on this, you can waste so much time waiting to see more clicks and more $$.

    Best of luck. ;)

    *edit*

webmasterplace 300-400 visitors is a good rule of thumb.

Cheers for the advise, i currently get about 30 unique users a day but its grown pretty fast considering i havnt been on the google search for long. i just put them there in hope that gradually people will start clicking and at the moment i am just working on adding more content to the site to attract new users. hopefully i'll see an improvement.
thought i'd ask just to see if there were any tips a better layout or anything as this is my first real site.

    thanks alot guys

You are doing the right thing. Try and write at least an article once every couple of days and before long you'll have a big site.

I have something that may help. Have you been submitting to directories. It's always good to do this for a few hours because it boosts you google ranks long term.

It does take awhile for the results, but after a month you'll see that your site is moving up. I've submitted one one to about 6000 directories. That's a lot of wasted time, but 6 months later I have 1500Unique visitors a day at this site.

    4000 directory list of mine:
