    Hey,

I am in a little bit of a situation I feel and was wondering what you would do and what you recommend I should do with this problem.

I paid someone via paypal exactly one month ago for a job I was told would take couple days at the most to complete but still nothing has been completed and I can't tell if anythings been done at all to be honest.

Only when I email the person they will stay in contact by responding, I usually ask how long it will take and hows it going they usually say its going fine and may take day or 2 longer.

This similar thing has been going on throught a month and I don't rush anyone and let them get on with the job and I am always friendly when emailing them.

It just does not seem right would you agree, that they keep delaying things, they have some important info that I have given them which was needed for job to get done.

I don't know weather they are struggling but hiding that fact by not informing me of this or maybe they are scamming me pure and simple, still strange that they respond to my emails though if they were scamming, maybe just to delay things so that after certain amount of time passes I can't dispute with paypal and get money back(not sure what the timescale for that is anyway).

I really want to know what you would do in this situation and I am thinking of emailing them to basically demand(in a nice way) that they finnish by the weekend or just forget the job and I want my money back. Something along those lines anyway.

    Thanks.

Personally, I would file a dispute with PP... They will take the money from your guy that's doing the job and hold it until they respond. Also I would change all the passwords/usernames that you gave them for access on your site or server (if you did that)

They didn't produce the dilverables so go through paypals resolution center...

Thanks for your response, your right they have not done the job and I have given them over 10x longer than was told it would take them so I think I will be doing as you suggest and file paypal dispute and change login details ofcourse.

    Thanks.

You need supporting documents or proof about the paypal dispute. You should file now before they withdraw the money or use it.

A day or two (2) extension that reaches over a month is a sign of a scam service.

A good lesson here is to not pay in full until the project is complete. I prefer to not pay anything until I have seen at least the first cut of something. Occasionally, I will put down a deposit on the project, but I will have checked references before doing so.

Definitely file a dispute with Paypal. They might actually deliver service if they have their money taken away, and if they don't, at least they're out a Paypal account. You only have 45 days to file a dispute, so I recommend doing it now.

Try to ask the people you hire for a testimonial or at least samples of their work before you use them. Jrbviz is right don't ever pay anyone up front as this may happen again.
Unfortunately, not everyone on-line is trustworthy.

Good luck and I hope you get your money back from paypal. :)
