I am dealing with nexon, I need to be able to discuss emulation of private servers. You will get DMCA from Nexon, as I have been DMCA by them. Have theyt aken any action? No they have not done anything about private servers, however the last host got a DMCA and they terminated the website. What do you think?

guys if you have any high traffic sites use caution with hl. they just suspended my site claiming 40% cpu usage. my site gets between 2500+ hits a day and they suspended it. i even got a second account with them because they seemed good at first. waiting to get a refund on my second unused account and as the first account just count it as a lesson learned i guess. so just be aware and dont get any traffic to your sites as they will suspend you. my last host i got anywhere up to 5000 hits a day with no problems. just to leave you with something to think about

 

George, you really cannot expect 2500+ hits a day on shared hosting! I'm sure any other shared host will agree with me, as it will use so much share of the CPU as if you were using it as a dedicated srever as you are using most of the resources. For your needs, you will require a high end VPS or low-medium end dedicated server.
Don't make a fool of yourself, as hardly ANY shared host allows so much CPU... as 2500+ hits a day won't even work on a low, small end dedicated server! and you expect it on shaerd hosting? I think you need some time to think and ask around.

Okay since you said it is allowed, you wold ignore all DMCA from Nexons Lawyers or Representatives? There won't be any game hosted on cpanel. Its just the discussion of making a game that is similar to Nexons MapleStory. And is There a chance that you will suspend me? I will not have any nulled or warez or anything else that fits to be illegal on my forum it will not have illegal porn, warez hosting/linking, nulled script, or anything that would be harmful. Just a simple forum. There are two questions here, please answer, thanks. Also I have 300 people average visiting my forums with a 500 peak.

Then jordan by "accident" bought HostLatch.com and promised to transfer it to us but we did not get anything yet. (sigh) My friend (which is a friend of Jordan) has left him an offline message to transfer the domain to me. Then we will redirect HostLatch.com to HostLatch.net
I am just crossing my fingers hoping he will transfer it as I have paid him $9 for the domain too!

I'm sure everyone in their life time has been accused, personally as a hosting provider, I do get accused A LOT as the owner of HostLatch. It is normal, and all hosting providers do get accused. But this is an accusation that is WAY OUT OF HAND and is one of the biggest accusations I have ever gone through in the hosting world. So I am sure you know how it feels to get accused as everyone has been. That is exactly how I feel now. I am a human as well, just like you and people around you, and it is normal to have feelings, and I understand you want to sit back, relax, and attack my sales thread but think about how I feel. I feel accused, just like you whenever you get accused. And sure, karma may happen to you in the future, so I like to do all good things in life, to be fair to people around me, as I personally feel that if I do a bad thing, karma/revenge may happen to me, so just keep it low for the good of yourself and for me, alright? I really appreciate it man.

You are affecting sales by doing this as well which is definately not appreciated.

You're kidding me right?

I know a few sites that exceed well over 2500 hits per day, make that UNIQUE hits too and you're claiming that amount of hits took up 40% of your CPU usage? That definitely DOES NOT require any high-end server or VPS. The only reason why it may be using 40% of your CPU may be because of a resource intensive application or mod that the client may be running with his/her account.

If 2500 hits on a shared account takes up 40% of your CPU then tell me how many hits clients are meant to have per day to not overload your server?
