Listen to the experts

I have been lurking here for quite awhile. At first I was like most adsense users. I thought adsense was awful and I would never make any money.

Then I began to read the posts by the experienced adsense people and applied there suggestions to my site. I am starting to get ads that fit my site and I'm making a little more money every day.

This is what I learned here:
It isn't up to adsense, it's up to me to make my site earn an income.

Content is everything - since adding content every day, I get more focused ads and they pay better.

Keywords are important - If I don't like the adsense ads, I change my keywords and content to fit what I want - It works.

I placed adsense channels on my home page and found out that my visitors were only clicking on the ads at the bottom of the page, so removed the other ads. The quality and per click amounts went up.

I have a lot of work yet to do. I am changing all pages to fit in with my home page, changing keywords, adding more content that my visitors want. I check my logs every day to see what they are looking for.

My point is that the experts here know what they are talking about and the rest of us need to listen. Adsense isn't a get rich quick scheme, it takes a lot of work.

I sincerely thank all of the experts that have shared their knowledge. It has helped me a lot. I just needed to realize that I have to learn and do the work myself, then the money will come.

To do well in adsense you first need traffic. Build a site that will be of value, build traffic and then slowly ad in the monetization angle. No one wants to link X with an MFA site.

I agree with that. I don't have an MFA site and I get a lot of traffic from the horse community. I just didn't have things set up well. I have had my horse related site online for 9 years and worked on it daily but never made any progress in earnings until reading the tips from the experts here. They have been a big help. I have a lot of changes to make so it will take awhile for earnings to get up there, but I am getting there.
