We've recently had a string of listings in businessweek.com articles, but unfortunately BusinessWeek just lists the site address without linking to the actual site. Would that help SEO in any way?

If it's not a direct hyperlink it will have 0.0% SEO effect.

You can request it to be a live link or the article be removed if you wanted to try that route.

It isn't a live link, so it won't help directly.

It will however indirectly help your site and boost your traffic ( People who read the articles and then manually type the site out. They find the site good, and blog about it, thereby giving your site more backlinks, and ultimately a push in the search engine rankings)
