Listed in DMOZ, I'm Happy!

I was surprised to find a hit from DMOZ in one of my small website's logs yesterday, I submitted the site to DMOZ over 2 months previously so I wasn't expecting it to be listed.

But, to my amazement, it was listed! It made me so happy I drunk too much cider. Its my first site in there!

I won't give the URL, its not an interesting site, I only made it to test out my xHTML / CSS skills, its on a very specific subject.

How did you lot celebrate your DMOZ inclusion? :D

Don't celebrate just yet, there is still a chance that it just goes away, by "accident" and/or "error" , like many listings in the past month.

I just got listed last week. My site and the ip address is only 30 days old.
I still don't get all of the hoopla.
What will this do for me?

Nothing, backlinks are a myth created by the ODP and it's clones to make people think search engines really use them in SERP calculations.

How many pages can one site have in DMOZ? This could make for many celebrations : )

Who told you that? There can be as many as there is content to justify it.

It's vaguely mentioned in their guidelines someplace...though, I guess you are more correct, so let me rephrase (as officially is likely not the correct word).

Generally two ~ one regional and one topical.

    Better ;)

And yes, you'll find sites with more then two, but not often.

EDIT: Who ever gave me red rep here saying "post ur name smart ass" ummm... my name is Qryztufre. Though, with it listed in the post_bit and all, I didn't think I really needed to mention it on a post by post basis. *shrug*
