Also make sure you get the product out there yourself! It is very easy to make a product and then say "Right there you go affiliates..." If you are getting sales and it is converting well through your own efforts the affiliates will come you don't need to worry about that! Chris
Hey, I have only just started to focus on the site, so am aiming to increase Search Engine rankings. I bought the site and it was underperforming in a big way in comparison to what I told. It is back to the same level now though and snowballing (hopefully). Hopefully I will start to creep up the SE rankings over the next few weeks Thanks for your input
Lot of effort is often spent on recruiting affiliates, this is all good. However, one very important aspect that is often not even mentioned in posts is about "Keeping Affiliates" - which is done by having a high conversion rate. If a product have a high conversion rate (and no fierce competition with a higher rate), even with Zero affiliate recruitment tactics your product will eventually do good with just the Listing in the Clickbank Marketplace. (With the listing alone and a decent product you can expect dosens of affiliates trying your product in weeks) The truth is that many affiliates give up on products if they dont find the conversion rates good enough. If you do the maths about how many "give up promoting" and the "potential affiliates that might be contacted to promote your product" one might be surprised to find that having a high converting product is much more important. After all, affiliates want high converting products as well, they search for them all the time. If one have to choose from both, its probably much more rewarding to spend time improving your conversion rates by split testing your copy INSTEAD of trying to find affiliates that will just bring a few sales and give up because the conversion rate is not good enough. Obviously, if both things can be done, that even better!
A. Offer a good percentage right from the start. B. Have material for your affiliates (banners - landers etc) C. Don't make your affiliates sign up to just to promote for you on CB (I FN h8 that) A few simple tricks for finding great affiliates: Great affiliates are often hard to find, you can use these simple tips to locate the ones actually doing the work - 1. Squidoo - look up a lens on the product your competing against. If you see a good number of lenses that have some decent rank - check the aff programme they are linking to. If the product is less of an offer or a dead deal - contact the lens owner to look at your product 2. Ezine - search for like product articles. Figure which ones are aff links - you'll know when you click them - follow that writer to other areas and give a chat to see if they will look at your product. Also check GoArticles, Fr.EE, HubPages etc etc - wherever we post... 3. Do a quick whois.sc to find out who the owner is of the .net/.org/.info in standard and plural form - these are typically owned by affiliates promoting a product such as yours. Send them an email and introduce yourself and your product. Hope this helps -
Do a little "snooping" and figure out the best affiliates in your niche, and then approach them with an offer they cannot refuse...
Go for incentive ads, but only with premium users becoz they usually view ads and tries to reach them.
never thought of looking them up via whois. though some may not put up their details but its a good way nevertheless. thanks!
Good shout on WHOIS, outsourcing this work could make it profitable I guess, otherwise you could spend hours!
