What's the way that google catches? I'm pretty sure there are some advance algorithms, as well as tracking that they do, but I think people forget the really simple stuff. I think below are the ways the catch many people

    • Google Toolbar
    • Logging Into Gmail
    • Logging Into Some Google Service
    • Cookies

You install google toolbar....now they got info on you and your computer specks, maybe even mac addresses...who knows. Say you log in once to adsense with the toolbar installed. And you log out, and decide to click on your ads...I bet you that toolbar is tracking it

Gmail users can link their adsense accounts to their gmail. Say you go to your friends house click on adsense ads on your site. But then log into your gmail...to check your gf's e-mail. I think they got you there.

Same with youtube, and other crap. I'm pretty sure you log into youtube at home and your adsense or some other google service. Then you go to the library or your friends house, and you click on ads but log into one of them services...bam you busted.

Anyways that just some of my theories. What do you guys think? How does google counter attack click fraud from their own publishers.

Quality of the site; history of the publisher with Adsense. Who the hell clicks on their own ads anyway?

You should remember about Google privacy policy. They can't catch our cookies in such way.

They don't care if it's you OR anyone else clicking your ads. The moment they detect multiple invalid clicks, it's YOUR ass they're grilling, whether you did the clicking or not.

But thought I'd mention how they *think* it's you:

Clicks are coming from the same country you're in.

Why ask? Just don't do it then you won't have to worry about getting banned for click fraud.

Exactlly what craig105 said. Don't be stupid, if you click your own ad Google will find out and you will get banned. Is it really worth it? Do things to increase your visitors and appearance of your ads and you'll get the natural clicks.

It's done by IP I think; if Google detect clicks from the same IP used to log in to adsense then it's seen as you clicking your own ads
