Paid traffic can be useful first for CPM and if it is good for CPC, for signup is a dream.
If I've a natural traffic from search engine and I have a 1:500 ratio, how can expect have results from people that not want to go in your website?
This traffic come from skim, people click to see a thing and is redirect to another place with content not related, he close the page before it is full loaded. The traffic must be very targetted to see some result for signup.

@dominic21 you have made a great work, but your result (imho) must be calculated not for signup, but for CPM, CPC and verifying the visitors bounce rates.

Thanks for the pointer on Toycat and Talker - do you have any other recommendations on good traffic providers?

Great to see a bit of consumer action to help people avoid scams. If only it was enough to get rid of these scumbags, but alas, they seem to do pretty good business through Google, Fiverr, etc.

Anyway, I wanted to reply here to give you my own personal experience with paid traffic. First, the good....

....Stumbleupon Gigs. I have tried many different traffic services, and the ones that have brought the most, and the most genuine traffic, have always been stumbleupon gigs. Unfortunatly, SU traffic doesn’t convert well, but a couple of Fiverr SU gigs can bring in thousands of visitors in a number of days.

    Now on to the bad....
I’ve tried a handful of sponsored Tweet services and none of them brought more than a handful of visitors, even a Tweet service from someone with 164000 followers.

    The utterly disgraceful...
ghazz, aka smartspace.com, (also known as EliteWebTraffic on Fiverr), offers a black hat, “hit" service, which might be useful for bloating your traffic stats in order to flip a website, but utterly useless for anything else.

    The traffic has:
    Bounce rate: 100%
    Average time: 0 seconds
    Average Pages views: EXACTLY 1.

In other words, it generates completely bogus traffic, presumably through some redirection or popup bullshit.

    A complete and utter scam.

    Want to boost traffic?
    DON’T RUSH IN.
    BUYER BEWARE

    Hi Toycat,
Please PM me your website, I would like to use your services. Also, would you kindly advice me which service to use for marketing a site to make sales? Thank you very much.
