    Actually PLR does mean you can do whatever you want. PLR= Private Label Rights

    which means youbecomethe author, you are buying the copyright ownership

    if someone puts restrictions on PLR it is no longe PLR

    other common rights are

    RR = Resale Rights
    You simply have the right to sell it direct to an end user, andleave everything the way it is

    MRR= Master Resale Rights
    You can sell direct, but you also may have some slight modification/customization options. Most importanly, you have the right to give others pemission to resale. You can sell RR and sometimes MRR with this permission.

    In all rights, you may have shared or exclusive

    Actually there are 2 types of PLR license. 1 is unrestricted license which gave you full rights to do anything you want and the other one is restricted license which have some rules for the products that you should follow.

    Just like what musiclover said, always refer to the PLR license first so you know what is allowed and what is not.

    they may call it "restricted"...but if there is a restriction, they have no longer assigned the rights to "private Label" it to you.

    Some people call "affiliate programs" or MLM "private label" but they are not

    DEFINITION:

    private label
    –noun
    the label of a product, or the product itself, sold under the name of a wholesaler or retailer, by special arrangement with the manufacturer or producer.

    (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Private+Label?o=100074

    if you can't put it out under your name the way you want...it is not "yours" to label - thus not TRUE "PLR"

    I didn't mentioned that restricted PLR license won't allow you to put your name on it.

    But the restricted license have some rules that you should follow. For example, you can't giveaway the products for free. With Full PLR (unrestricted) rights, you don't have all the limitation.

    So the best thing is to read the license first as all licenses are not the same.

    dyna you are right.

    just because it says PLR, does not mean it is...and the "license" will let you know if it is or not

    Jus likeYahoo and Hostgator all SAY they give "unlimited" hosting...but we know that just is not true

    marketers like to "redefine" words to get you to buy.
