I know I've seen this before, but I can't seem to find it again.

there was a list of big updates / global deep crawls with the dates that went along with it.

    anyone know where one is?

    thanks :)

38 days seem like a long time. Wish they update every 2 weeks. That would be nice.

yeah, it'd be nice if they increased the frequency at some point. I wonder what's holding them back?

I wouldn't mind so much that the updates happened only once a month, if it didn't turn out that the updates were from data that was as long as five weeks old.

It doenst matter anyway because they constantly are updating their results- its just eye candy at this point.

I wonder why people say that. If it's just eye-candy why does my ranking only really makes a big move every 3 weeks or so ?
I think there is still a dance going on, but since the're is an ever-flux going on everyday, most people won't notice, since most people have a small website. But having like about 400thousand pages on my website, i can definitely see a boost on every montly dance (it's more 3 weeks then montly actually).

That's not the case for my keywords... Just constant small daily movements.

I can see daily movements in the order of the web pages listed for my preferred keywords depending on changes in what I think is keyword density. So I believe that the reindexing is continuos.

As far as changes in PR goes that does appear to be on a monthly cycle.

according to that list, they're generally around 18 days apart, and the last one was june 1st, so one should be coming rather soon, it seems like..

Has anyone seen Google 'deep crawls' recently? It would seem we are getting back around to the 18 day approx. time period.

Not sure what constitutes a deep crawl, but our homeless site has around 330 pages and google seems to crawl every page every day, a number of times (I only use the root domain and one level deep + I add new content and make changes twice weekly).

I agree though we should be set for an update this week.

actually, if we're following the trends we've had in the past, an update should've been 16-18 days after the last one. if it doesn't hit then, then it basically "skips" an update... since it's already been more than 18 days, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see one for a while

There appears to be a lot more google bots crawling this forum today than I have noticed in the last few days. It may mean nothing though.. Only Google knows for sure...

What does a 'deep crawl' mean? I did have inkotomi and MSNbot hitting my site once a day and then according to awstats the hits from both of these spiders went up by a hundred odd and then I had a better position in Yahoo and MSN...is that a deep crawl?
