Here is my list of free press release distribution sites. There are a lot of buggy, ineffective PR sites out there, and free sites tend to come and go, but this list is currently (as of end of August 2010) working well for me. Prlog.org tends to go live immediately and to rank in Google very quickly. If there are any that are not on my list, that are free, and that you know work well - please let me know! http://www.ecommwire.com – only for stories about ecommerce http://www.downloadjunction.com/submit_press_release – for press releases about software http://www.techprspider.com http://www.prhwy.com http://www.pressabout.com http://www.pressmethod.com http://www.1888pressrelease.com http://www.i-newswire.com http://www.24-7pressrelease.com http://openpr.com/ http://www.clickpress.com www.onlineprnews.com http://www.freepressindex.com http://www.free-press-release-center.info http://www.prurgent.com http://www.prlog.org http://www.pressexposure.com www.pressabout.com http://www.free-press-release.com http://www.pagerelease.com http://www.pressreleasepoint.com http://www.bignews.biz http://www.newswiretoday.com http://www.pressrelease.com.np/submit-release/ www.prfocus.com httpr-usa.net http://www.usprwire.com www.ukprwire.com
That third to last one is suppoed to be pr-usa.net. I'm not sure why it appeared on here with a smiley face logo.
Let me know what kind of results you get! Good luck. Also - put your best keyword in the headline, Google pays a lot of attention to the headline.
Thanks for sharing I find PR sites a good way to get back links, and you can appear in Google news for your target term in a matter of hours.
By the way, I also like ezinearticles, goarticles, and associated content for good backlinks. Another press release tip - make sure that you include a "call to action" at the end of the press release, with a link back to your site. Your press release should be 300-500 words, and in the last paragraph or two, say something like "Those seeking more information about (your product here) may visit (your website link here)."
This could definitely come in handy if you have a good hour or two to dedicate towards sending your PR to these distribution sites. However, software could help the submission process a lot. I would look for a PR site that does the submitting for you and distributes to the top directories.
