list of free directories

I was looking for the set of social bookmarking directories,
web directories, and articles in one site. Good thing I saw your post..

Okay, I don't get it. I'm sincerely sorry if I come off sounding rude here, but I really didn't find the list as useful as most of these comments suggested. Many of the sites were simply too specific, such as being only for websites pertaining to biological science or only for websites pertaining to South Africa, etc. Many of the other sites have nowhere to submit links, and some of the sites are even no longer accepting submissions.

I didn't go through all of the links, but I just spent roughly an hour going through the higher PR ones, and only managed to actually find a couple to a few that I could actually submit my site to.

Anyone else experience this or am I just missing something? All of these "thanks, great list" replies seem a little generic and insincere.
