Do you own these directories ? Listings are 'nofollow' on many of these directories. Not many would be interested to get their sites listed if their sites are listed with 'nofollow'.

Yep, Paid and recip links are dofollow and free links are nofollow. Sorry to make you pay for your lunch.

Why free submission with nofollow attribute? :(

The nofollow is to protect paid listings from spammers. Alot of times people will buy a domain name and submit it to thousands of "free" directories and then sell the domain name once it has PR and suddenly it becomes a porn site.

So, I say, if your not willing to pay at least $2.00 for a listing then your site must be worthless. Right? Makes sense to me.

I also forgot to mension that paid submissions are validated within a few hours unless I'm sleeping. When I get the email on my Blackberry, I validate your links right then and there.

Makes perfect sense! I wish all directory owners were as responsible as you.

Well, I am first and foremost a webmaster and have over 500 websites and I know that I would want directory owners to protect my investment if I pay for a listing. I think my prices are very inexpensive for what I offer but the small price weeds out 99% of the spam that I get from thousands of "India" and "Russia" submissions.

I love India and Russia alot but it seems like they need to build their own directories because it's just too many submissions for me to handle.

My understanding is no follow only stop link juice, so it doesnt matter if it is no follow, if its good directory it still has benefits

edit: uandat.info is down and side kick 2 doesnt let me have free link eventhough I select "Links with nofollow attribute"

Google never said they won't count the nofollow link as a vote for your site. They said they will not follow the link with their spider and the link will not pass page rank. But it's a proven fact that google still counts the nofollow links when you check your backlinks with google webmaster tools. I still think google counts the link as a vote and may still use the anchor text in the link to rank your site which is very debatable but plausable.

The best way to find out is to build a new site and get a few dozen nofollow links to it and see if google spiders it and indexes it. That will answer that question. I think I am going to test it and see what happens.

Also, PM me if you want to do bulk submissions. There is a discount for bulk submissions. Let me know how many links you want to submit and I'll PM you back a quote. If you like the quote, send me your links and paypal me the money and I'll add your links to my directories.
