I want to do some research on all of them but I need to know what they all are. Can anyone list some of the better or more popular cpc and cpm networks and maybe give a brief rundown on them?
A nice cpm network is Adsdaq - you can set your own rate and the impressions that they don't sell are transferred to another ad network of your choice. Here's my post about them: Adsdaq Review
CPC/PPC = Adwords, YSM, AdCenter...(they take up the majority of search volume).. As for CPM...I don't bother, they're less reliable..
I think you should be saying that you want to do research on some of them and not all of them as it will be hard to find all of them. There are ones that are popular, ones that are not so popular, new ones popping up all the time. The market is getting more crowded each day with new networks and affiliate programs.
There are also CPA ad networks and Cost Per Lead / Sales ad networks which can be a better option for you, but very much depends on what are u looking for. But i'm just to let you know that such other ad networks also exist, i.e Cj.com, Azoogle.com and so on.
CPM is great, every high trafficked site uses CPM ads.. If you're CTR is crappy, hey you still make some money.
