If you are using the "do follow" attribute to gain a backlink, you can do what I did. I created a page on my site that's an "about me" page. It tells where I live and shows pictures of the area, as well as a map, showing where my city is located. I have included a few pics of my pets as well. When I comment on someone's blog, I always make sure my comment is relevent to the blog entry, and then I simply hyperlink my name with a link to my "about me" page. That page also has a couple of small ads on the bottom for the things I sell, but those are a minor portion of the page. The major theme of the page is to let people know who I am.
