Need advice on CPM ad network.

My site is celebrity niche site, 3 months old and already receiving 350k pageviews permonth and still increasing. Traffict = 60% North america, 30% Europe.

Yesterday there was a guy from advertising.com offers me $.50 CPM. Is that too low? I was hoping at least 1$ CPM or more. Because my adsense estimatedCPM is $3.50, which is way higher. And already make money out of it.

    advice? Thanks

ps: if i put 2 banners in my site with 350k pageviews permonth, thats mean I get 700k impressions permonth, right?

That is quite low for a media buy. Haggle with them, they will always try to undercut you in order to maximize their profit. I would counter with an offer for a $2.50 cpm and you can probably settle for ~$1.50 - $1.75. Good luck.

    Hi ipunkbali,

I wonder why you choose to advertise through CPM. Usually the eCPM is much lower than CPC or CPA models (especially if you have targeted traffic). You said that Google AdSense generates higher income. Why wouldn't you use 3 ad blocks (that's the maximum they allow you) and focus on raising the CTR (click through rate) and eCMP? You can also choose some affiliate programs that mach your niche (shopping sounds like a good choice). I guarantee that your eCMP would be much higher. If you still interested in CPM - try to ask for at least 2.5-3$ for 1,000 views.

About your calculation- you have only 350k /month no matter how much banners you put.
You might also want to read a little bit about the amount of banners- usually, the added value of multiple ads is really low when it comes to banners.

    Good luck.

Banners will ALWAYS generate lower income then text links, because people consider them as not-reliable. I would recommend you to use 3 blocks of text links. If you want to increase your income maybe you should consider affiliates programs. If you select one that will mach your niche you can get much better payment then CMP. What is your site about? Does it give fashion tips? Recommendations and advices for shopping?

True, but they allow only 3 blocks.

He wants to add more ads to his site.

However, speaking of which, I remembered that a friend of mine that had a really big site got a special permission from Google to put more ad blocks. Maybe ipunkbali should try that too :)

We are planning on putting Adsense on my forums because it generally has a higher eCPM with a lot of USA traffic.

If you can get more from Adsense on every 1000 pageviews then why do you want to look for a CPM provider. Majority of CPM providers pay under $0.50 CPM. There are probably a few out there that pay more than that, but can't think of top of my head.

First of all its CPM , and second of all this is first incorrect judgment with no back up. Every site is unique in its way, and each site a certain advertising works best. I managed to monetize on cheap traffic, and if i was able to do that , anything online is possible. I personally get 25$ for CPM and really cannot complain ;)
