LIR Technique

    Hey guys,

I was just redesigning one of my sites and wanted a way to "smoothen" my header text. After some research I came across the LIR technique, which basically sets the height of the header to 0px and uses padding and a background image replacement to show a smooth version of the header text.

    Here's a link to the article: http://www.kryogenix.org/code/browser/lir/

I was just wondering what your opinions were on this technique? Do you think this would reduce or nullify the importance of the contents of the header? The reason I ask is because isn't this technique essentially the same as putting text on a page that blends into the background? I realize the intention would be different but SEs may regard it as a way to stuff keywords?

    Thanks!

    Hodge
