my point of view i think windows is better but Linux is safe for use but most of the software are create for windows base so windows is better than linux.
Oh ho - the Windows vs Linux vs Mac OS argument again! Most of you guys are way too young to remember the problems with these OS's in their early days of development, but let me just butt in here and tell you, that back in the late 1990's / early 2000's, there was a lot going on with both Apple & Microsoft regarding security (still are today, check this link - holes in Windows 7 security) and many of these same issues were bouncing around then. I worked for a company building industrial PC's for Microsoft in Cambridge England at that time, and Microsoft were hauled over the coals for running their servers on Mac OS platforms (yes MS using Mac Servers). The reasons? Security issues. Once found out, MS made a huge leap of faith and put their whole system onto their own NT servers, but suffered serious issues (as I recall) with security once again and spent months and months figuring out where the "holes" were so they could plug them. It's a numbers game . . . . millions of users chose MS over the competition, and still do today, and that's fine - except, the hackers and virus makers of the world target the larger numbers as they know it'll cause maximum effect (downtime or catastrophic problems in other area's of the OS). Around that time, I had other issues relating to MS OS's - Vista was just about to be released, but the fiasco with the beta testing of this buggy OS (of which we played a part), eventually turned me to try the Mac OS out of desperation. Within the week I felt more secure, was able to "work" without trying to "fix" things (MS OS"S) all the time, and spent far more productive time than I'd ever done previously. Networking issues were resolved easily, and many things (at that time) were more intuitive than MS OS's (though I loved - and still do - Win 2000 as a server and workstation). The closest OS Microsoft has released to date which I'd happily run - and do via my Mac - is Windows 7. Right from the start it had a level of confidence about it and although (again) the beta testing wasn't perfect, it's reliable enough to continue to sit in the background on my Mac. Linux was also agreat alternative, but again, it required a slightly more technical approach, and (although I've not played with the latest releases) I believe it still does, but the backbone of both Mac OS & Linux software is Unix, and that's the difference between these 2 and Windows. Now I know it's a matter of preference, and many (including me) loved the idea of tweeking systems for better performance, and changing this, overclocking that etc etc., but if (like me now) you just need to get on with working, then there are other alternatives these days. For the game players amongst us - it's always bee Windows, but now more and more Linux and OSX alternatives are springing up - just take some time to research before making your mind up.
Very little chance of viruses on Mac OSX too, but I agree Linux is the most secure platform, which is why larger companies use it for their firewalls.
I think window is the best OS for any person. Anybody can handle this OS easily and operate it's all program.
