Linux. It's a professional operating system for professionals. Windows is for amateurs.

Straight to the point answer: Linux.

Long answer: I guess it all depends on what you want to do on it. If it's just every day things, like writing emails, web surfing, watching videos & listening to music... Well both OS's offer that. Linux is much much more secure, no viruses etc. So really you're better of going with that one. How ever, if you're wanting to play the latest games, I guess Windows would be better suited to you. Although, quite a few decent games can be played on Linux using WINE.

There is really no best OS, it all depends on the requirements of the individual users.

You can't say Linumx is the best. It depends on the user, whichever OS that works better for them.

Both Operating System is Good, If suited to Users

    Linux -
It may be more difficult to find users familiar with all Linux variants, there are vast amounts of available online documentation and help, available books, and support available for Linux.
Windows - Microsoft Windows includes its own help section, has vast amount of available online documentation and help, as well as books on each of the versions of Windows.
Linux - Linux is and has always been a very secure operating system. Although it still can be attacked when compared to Windows, it much more secure.
Windows - Although Microsoft has made great improvements over the years with security on their operating system, their operating system continues to be the most vulnerable to viruses and other attacks.
Linux - Although the majority Linux variants have improved dramatically in ease of use, Windows is still much easier to use for new computer users.
Windows - Microsoft has made several advancements and changes that have made it a much easier to use operating system, and although arguably it may not be the easiest operating system, it is still Easier than Linux.

well windows is more organized and used world wide by most of the user where linux is a open source soft were and its free though it has not expected user. may be the reason is it is not that much user friendly and it has got different versions and it is virus free. where as windows are expensive and are always in a constant thread of virus. yet it win customers just because its user friendly and it has got relatively high variations of applications that's why people like it. linux is lacking behind in this concern. so its not the question which one is better, question is which one is getting more customer. and here windows is way ahead of Linux.

Linux has the same built in to each version, easily accessible, up to date and available online or offline.

He's not asking for your personal preference and, from what you said, it means your opinion doesn't count cause you know nothing about Linux.

It depends on the user. For a human who has never touched a PC, Windows is probably best. For medium to advance users Linux is definitely a good choice since is more stable and open.

Of course you're ignoring all scientific computing, almost all phones and the internet itself. When you don't know what you're talking about, you'll say anything to make people think you're smart, won't you?
