    Hi ,

Am looking for an Open Source Soln for reporting / monitoring ( optional ) of load , memory , diskspace etc.
Needs to let me check historic data / graphs etc

I could sit down and write something with shell , php etc but theres surelys something out there already?

    Cheers!

Uhh... Not to my knowledge yet but if you want you can use instantfreesite.com for your web hosting needs. They offer lots of options from instant free cpanel hosting to Unlimited Features - MySQL Databases, Email Accounts, Addon Domains plus more. They have unlimited disk space and bandwidth ofcourse. You can upgrade what you ordered anytime you want without a hassle if ever you like it.

Cacti is really nice... it lets you monitor pretty much anything... and the stuff that it can't monitor out of the box, you can easily make your module to monitor.

    http://www.cacti.net/

I use it to monitor all the server stuff, loads, drive space, processes running, bandwidth, web requests, DB queries, etc.

And I also use it to monitor other random stuff... like at my home I monitor electricity output from my solar panels:

Now that really caught my attention Shawn, glad I passed by this post.

I've been with them and they do have good quality offer. Regular backups are surprisingly good actually. They've prepared pretty much everything you need and since it's for free, you'll have a fun time using their services for a while until you want to upgrade your site where it just gets better.
