Linkshare - silly question

Oh, I know I'm probably going to regret asking this but its bugging me.

Quite a number of companies I would want to join affiliate programs for are using the Linkshare network. And, at one point a long while back, I created an account there to join one. So, theoretically, I should just be able to go to Linkshare.com again, log in and select these other programs.

But I can't find the log in place on the linkshare.com web site. ANYWHERE. I mean, honestly, I've clicked every link, and been through their entire site and all over the site map and I can't find it.

So, there has to be another way. Just yesterday, I was on a site and thought my readers would like this product - clicked their affiliate link and it said "we're part of the linkshare network, click here to join our program..." and I ended up again on linkshare.com searching all over creation for the log in.

What gives? If its there and *I* can't see it, why not? Anyone had any experience with this? I feel like i'm in the twilight zone every time I go there... then I say "screw it, I won't join any programs that are part of linkshare..." and find myself back there a few months later. Obviously people are using it... but where is the door?

There is a huge "Click Here To Log In" in the Upper right

    Just below "Contact Us"

    Right?

I did notice its an image though so if you have Norton Ad Blocking Enabled it may have been removed

AHA! Norton is blocking it! That must be the reason. I had no idea Norton would do such a thing - I dont' see ANY log in there and it has been driving me nuts.

I shoulda known. It seems like 99% of my computer issues are because of overzealous spam/virus/ad/pop up blocks.

    Bah

    THANK YOU

Its that sites fault though really...You should never include vital information in an image that is the standard ad size.

You are just asking to get blocked

There's ton of back and forth about Norton blocking things you might not want it to block, including banners, ads, links and more. Furthermore, it does this on the default installation and not a a user-selected option...

    Start here:

I disagree with yfs1 - what business is it of software program to block an image based on size without me specifically telling it that I want to block such images? ANy soft of software that seeks to 'enhance' user experience by blocking ads needs to come up with a better filter than blocking by image size. What an assinine concept....

I think it is really poor style from Norton software blocking those links. Making money by denying others of it in my book is not much different than theft.
(If it were only blocking popups or really flashy ads it would be a different matter, but blocking all ads, especially google, and being on by default is just not cool)

Thanks for linking to that article on my 5 Star site iShopHQ. I think lots of people still don't know about all the damage Norton does.

FYI Norton may not be blocking LS based on the image size - they block LinkSynergy links at the root as well as qksrv.net and other popular adservers. Which also means all the affiliate links and banner are blocked if users have Norton ad blocking on.

It used to ship with ad blocking on by default, but I heard the new version does not have ad blocking turned on. Still tons of users just like Webturtle are seeing blank spots where there should be content. Sometimes the content that's blocked is not even ads, it's navigation and even site logos.

Not to get off the subject, but I am still a newbie here but I have really been impressed at how friendly and helpful everone has been even for questions where people feel like they are going to "probably going to regret asking". Kudos to the DigitalPoint user community...

LOL. CJ, Linkshare and some other ad network websites don't work with my computer..not sure why..probably marked as spam somewhere or blocked by my hosts file or something but they never work. But what I do to login is google "cj login" and "linkshare login" to find their logins. Lol.
