    Will I get penalized by having too many inbound links on a page?

    If so, about what is the proper amount?

    Any thoughts on the subject in general?

    Who told you this ? Is he a fool or what ? Too many inbound links on a page will never penalized you.

    Yes but sometime too many outbound links may penalize you if that are from spammy sites, or ban sites, or C grade site but for inbound link no way.

    too many inbound links is really cool, IF the links are relevant to your site or content

    As long as you get links from relevant sites, there is no problem about the number of links. But if the links are from adult,pharma,banned,mirror sites, & too many links from the same IP, I can say You will be inviting the problem.

    Your competitor can make links from adult,pharma,banned,mirror sites for your site. There is no mistake from your side. Then why your site should get banned??

    If, what you said is correct then people start building links from adult,pharma,banned,mirror sites for competitors site. :D
