I am writing some articles to distribute in article directories for their potential placement on google and was wondering if I add a link (say a cloaked link with html) in the body of the article will this affect google's indexing of the article? Should I keep the links only in the author's bio? Thanks for any responses...
Check with the articles directories where you are submitting your article, if they allow link in the article body.
If they do allow a link and I place one within the article body will it affect how google indexes it? There a few article directories with high alexa rankings that do allow hyperlinks within the text and those are the articles I plan to submit to but I'm not sure if having an html link in my article will effect it's potential indexing/ranking.
Yes, of course A link with the relevant anchor text in an article body is certainly considered natural to any search engines.
SEOJoe you say I shouldn't hide or cloak elements within the body of the article... What if it's to dress up a long, ugly affiliate link so instead it simply has the keywords underlined? Is this an ethics problem or an actual indexing/ranking problem?
having links on the article body can really help you, just be sure that the site where you will submit your article allows links in the article body. Also, much better if you will use your keywords as the anchor text in the article's body.
Well, sort of... I have link in some of my article body. But the best way is to put it in your resource box.
Most of them have prevention measures for such things, such as not allowing HTML in the article body, you should be content with the link they give you at the end of the article IT
All directories will follow some templates. around 5 to 6 templates. so you have a deep look of the directories and seperate them in to which template they are allowing and make your content. do some alterations for the article depends up on the templates and submit it. It is completely depond up on the "anchor text", url and the content you are writing. for example : if your topic is about "big size shoes" and you have written some good rich content about big size shoes and give an anchor like "big size shoe shops" will be more relevant than giving "baby dresses" in the content of "big size shoes".
