I believe that those are trackbacks.

 

these are indeed trackbacks.. Basically all blogs which refer to an article are referenced in trackbacks and are shown interconnected.

There is a similar thing called Pingback where in when you reference aan article from a blog, the source blog gets notified of being refernced in an blog..
