Does anyone know how google decides what links to recognize? when i go to google and put in link:\\silverstarcabinets.com, it just shows one link from a random forum that i posted on a while back. There are a lot of others, but they don't show up. On google analytics, i can see that people are using the links to my site, so I would think google would recognize it.
You need to register with Google webmaster tools to see what backlinks they recognise. They don't show them through using a link operator as a point of policy.
Even in webmaster tools you cannot see all your external links to your site. It's better to use link:yoursite.com in yahoo search engine...
I think Google keeps the true value of an incoming link close to their chest. I agree even Google webmaster tools are not truthful but closer than using the link: command in Google search. I like Yahoo explorer best.
I agree that typing link:yoursite in yahoo will show you more results but another point here is whihc of them google algo considers valueble...
Yahoo site explore also has some new features and more in depth reporting just released. Even with all the back links, they still apply algorithm etc making it impossible for you to exactly know the value of the shown links.
This command shows you Backlinks to your site from other sites But Google Thinketh all links, but there are conditions for this are: anchor text in a page talking about the same theme of your site and Google PR for basic domain high If you do not adhere to these three conditions, Google would not be considered links Backlinks
google webmaster tools will tell you what backlinks google recognises as yours, its a helpful tool for publishers
