    Ok let's say this situation
    We have

    1 . A domainname.com and we submit it to 300 webdirectorys

2 . We have let's say a blog blog.domainname.com we olso submit this to the same 300 webdirectorys

    Question :

1 . This will afect rankings and pr of one of this 2 "cases"

2 . Will the "popularity" of the subdomain help the rankings and PR of the top domain and viceversa or they are 2 separatly things ?

    Thanks for your answers .

well, as domain.com and subdomain.domain.com are seen like 2 different sites, you can promote them separately... but as long as domain.com and subdomain.domain.com are on the same server... they don't help much each other

I am leaning towards that, but didn't the latest update change Google's algo so sub.domain.com will still come up if you search site:domain.com ?

So basically sub.domain.com would still be part of domain.com right (because that's how Google recognizes it)?

    Anyone else have any input?

indeed, if you search "site:domain.com" the subdomain pages will show up but that is like since ever..

the correct search should be: "site:www.domain.com" and the subdomains won't be listed
