What happens if most of the links I review in my new directory has no reciprocal link back to my PR1 directory? www.directoryboss.com *My directory doesn't allow free non-reciprocal link*

Should I really just "clean house"? I'd say maybe 90% has no reciprocal link. I have deleted many already, I also deleted all the premiums. ;)

If they removed your link, sure you can remove their link with a notification email.

My advice to you is to permanently remove that reciprocal link option from your submit page bacause :

    • you have no control on the backlinks
    • most of them suck
    • if they are good they will get deleted
    • nofollow is another problem
    • most of the backlinks are placed on satellite pages that have no connectivity with the main page
    • you can get penalised by Google because you ask for reciprocals, and this hurts the most

And to answer to your question... depending on your TOS, nofollow them all !

Yep, recip link directories have gone the way of the dinosaur IMO.

Just remove the recip option from your submission page - My main reason is they are a hassle to keep track of and who needs that hassle for a few low value recips?

it used to be a powerful strategy though but I dont think it applies so much now
BUT I think that sites that got their rankings previously on recips are still benefiting from those links
