Recently I have been on a link exchange mission trying to get backlinks for my new site ... anyway the reason for the thread is because of what I have started doing. My new links pages now not just include a url with the prefered anchor text from the person I am exchanging links with ... but it also has a small paragraph about the site. The way I see it is it makes good seo for my pages ... (i) I now no longer have extra pages on my site with just 15 outgoing links, but actually have some sort of a small article covering various topics or whatever the other sites are about. (ii). This also might help someone even find your page when they are doing an all in anchor type search("") for a unique term within the small paragraph ... and waaallllla!! .. traffic for you. (iii) It is a good service to the people using your website, looks good (See Here) and the person exhanging links with you will get genuine traffic, from people interested in their site. So from this day on .. STOP creating creating plain old links pages ... take a minute add an additional paragraph .. it might be worth your while.
well I always do it like that. plain links look too bad for my site, just you have ALOT of information, a whole paragraph, and I dont think web people like to read THAT much.
I agree with you 100%! This is a method that I have been using with success over a period of time now. It's one of those win-win situations that is a benefit for everyone involved, including your site visitors. I have also found it effective to divide the resources into categories.
