Links Page?

Hello. I have been reviewing other websites out there and I see that some webmasters have created a links page that shows everyone who they have reciprocal links for.

I am thinking to intertwine them throughout your content is better since the search engines may look at your website like your trying to beat the system with a page of links to gain popularity.

Is it best to intertwine these links into the pages that have relevant information or just create a sponsoring links web page?

It doesn't matter. Search engines will see the reciprocal links and the count anyway.

 

In general I would recommend you don't spend your time with reciprocal links. They aren't that valuable, they take time and they get you associated with bad 'neighborhoods'. These days, you have to be a publisher of good content and good tools that people will link to on their own.

I would say if you are going to link out, make sure you are linking out to valuable resources within content. Try to avoid a links page.

 

Integrating links to page content is better. But it's quite hard to monitor the status of the links.

 

In general, links pages attract crappy sites. You want to be linked from quality sites and you want to link to quality sites.

 

Personally I have had sites with recip links and without, the ones with have done much better in the serps though it seems that google is deciding this is an unatural way to build links and giving much less authority to backlinks that are reciprocated.
