    Hi,

I know that a page that is dedicated for links or "links page" that contains links related or ranked website boost your SEO.

Now my question is how? How does it help? and Does it affect your overall page rank beside from the "link page"? are there any rules to follow? i mean can that page contains hundreds of links?

    Thanks!

Lots of websites have links pages, it can depend on the quality of the site.

Ensure all their links listed are for related sites and avoid those with hundreds of links to random/unrelated websites.

If they are a health company and links to gym, fitness, vitamins etc... that might be ok
If they are a health company and have links to cheap flights, gambling, marketing websites... that would be bad

Typically link page are frowned upon by search engines, I find many have the grey bar and I am sure even the ones with PR probably don't pass any on.

how about ranking of the "link page"? example if the "link page" increases 2 points in page rank will it affect other pages like homepage?

    thanks!

On opinion, if your links page does include less number like hundres links out with related content, like me that's seem to be fine, I got PR4 on first page and PR# in inner page

From my experience, only have a link page linking out to high quality websites that are relevant to your website. For example, your website was about Search engines (how to use, information etc) then you would have a links page with say top 10 search engines, all which are well recognised.

If you intend to use a links page for "SEO Link exchanging", I would strongly advise against this as you can be penalised or even worse...banned.

Try and see if from a normal users point of view and go from there.

    Good luck

I remember that back in the days of the good ol link exchanges the scripts involved required the creation of these "links" pages however I wouldn't even include one of those on any of my sites. Seriously. I would much rather focus on 100% one-way link building instead of creating these pages.

Unless you are going to list your own sites or very high quality sites there I wouldn't bother with this structure...
