I get most of my traffic from links that I subtly insert in the Wikipedia external links section of an article that is related to my website content. ¿Any comments?
Some links are deleted instantly, but others last during months... At this moment I would say I get like 60-80 visitors per day from Wikipedia.
I too have inserted my link in external links section with good anchor text too But no traffic and its nofollow damn.
Inserting links in wiki has very little chance remain in wiki coz removed in minutes. Reciprocal link exchange is good way with relevant websites.
For those of you who think nofollow won't do anything to your rankings then you need to experiment more =/
In my test... a few days after I put a link on a wikipedia to a page on my website, this page PR went from RP0 to PR4. And adsense per click revenue from from that page increased dramatically too. links from Wikipedia can do miracles to your site.
I would be interested in getting some wikipedia links. If an editor would contact me via PM, that would be great. I do not have a large budget, but I would be willing to pay a few dollars for some help to get my sites listed in wikipedia.
Hey Sakhal, could you please clarify where exactly you put external link there? I assume you are a member?
Most of the Wikipedia moderators are way too picky when it comes to backlinks. Even highly related but somehow "commercial" links get removed from time to time.
I didnt even know that we can promote our blogs on wikipedia too ! I am going to try it asap. Thanks for raising the question.
