Links on the footer

Hi,

I have seen many people have very big footers having lot's of links of their own sites on footers. For example here is a site: http://www.londonguide.no/ if you see he has lot's of links at bottom of the page, maybe links of hos own websites.

What do you say about this?

I sure help for navigation, but onsite links with proper anchor text will help with your seo effort.

and all the links are directing to his internal pages.

It is good because everytime crawler crawls into his website they also crawl into his internal pages

 

Nice practice . google would consider this as site inter-linking and really good for SEO

 

It's awful, plain awful I tell you. The footer just looks spammy because there are far too many links there. This is not a good experience for users and not the best way to spread Pagerank around the site.

 

I would say it is a good practice, just be careful with how many links you place there. The example site seems to have overloaded their footer with too many links. Keep it to a minimum if you're gonna do this.

 

I think the links are more than enough,it doesn't look nice for visitors as well as for search engines.

 

His idea is good as it helps spiders crawl his site more effectively but the execution is bad as like someone said earlier, it looks spammy.

 

Seems like the owner of londonguide.no has placed entire sitemap in footer and its true it appears spammy.
