Google says to have less then 100 links on a page but if you have more or even quite bit more would I get punished? I want to have about 350 links (All neatly done so it wont look untidy), about 80 of them are external links and the rest are internal links to content driven pages, all linked from the main page, neatly as I say. Would I get penalized?
No you will not get penalized, what's the point in having more then a 100 on page, it looks very tacky anyway and 350 is way to many to have on a page. I would bring that number down.
I have already said it wont look tacky I already have 200 and get compliments on the design and easy navigation system.
Who is really going to sit there and look at all of those links? How will it benefit you to have 350 links on one page? Split them up among 4 pages or something, but in my opinion that is way to many.
Im only asking for opinions on if it would get me in trouble as google said less then 100, thats it, nothing else. I'll worry about the rest.
The 100 is just a guideline for usability, and im sure in years gone bye bogged Googlebot down. Its not recommended but i've seen authority sites with 200+ with no negative impact. Its not something i would personally do though.
