Links Leading from my blog to a Higher Blog?

    If I have a backlink from my blog (PR4) to another blog with a PR7 or PR8, does that do anything good for me linkwise? Or is it just another link on the page?

    I hear some bloggers mention that as long as the links are not for monetizing purposes and have higher authority, it can benefit you as well.

    The linked blog would get benefited not the one giving out link. Outgoing link always bleeds pr.
