Can anyone explain to me why I have a number of links listed under other search engines but none listed under google?

I used a utility who links to you on my site http://gimesumsex.com which ideentified for example 24 links to my site within MSN but zero links on google.

The utility in question is on a banner at the bottom of the landing page still.

Please could someone advise me how I get links listed on google as well?

    Paul:(

You can check all updated links from your Google Webmaster tool. You could see external and internal links there.

Don't worry if Google doesn't show them. In fact they will take some extra care not to show you the links.
The links are not shown but counted by Google!
If you really want to know, use Google Webmaster tool and you will get a better report!

Google does not show you all your links when you use the link: command, you need to sign up to the webmaster central, verify your self and they will let you see the complete list.

Thanks Big bad wolf, I have signed up and verified myself with google when i originally posted I thought I was using a google tool, but I'm not sure it was now. Which tool should I use. I have dowloaded the txt file Statistics for all sites is this the right thing to be looking at? It does show more links that the original tool I used.

    Hi,

the links shown in webmaster central is actually a bigger sample size from the link:

"Now you can use webmaster tools to view a much larger sample of links to pages on your site that we found on the web. Unlike the link: operator, this data is much more comprehensive and can be classified, filtered, and downloaded. All you need to do is verify site ownership to see this information."

Google will never show all the backlinks through the "link:" query but rather just a part of it. Usually, Yahoo site explorer is better and more complete when checking your backlinks.

you can use yahoo or G webmaster tools to see your real links. G shows only a small part of your backlinks . i think this is the clever side of google;)

Google took nearly a year to index my site, even though I had a fair few backlinks to it. However it was not until I had higher PR backlinks, that it finally got indexed. MSN and Yahoo! both indexed my site extremely quickly...
