Links from your own domain?

    Are the links from your own site are counted as backlinks?
    How that works? can anyone expalin me.. as its confusing me....

    I was just checking back links for vb seo

    and most of the links are of there own site.... :confused: :confused: :confused:

    Yes backlinks from your own site count, but their likely to be devalued.

    Yes, they are backlinks, but as above by mdvaldosta, I can confirm that they won't help you that much with rankings.

    I think taht they can help a little, particularly with their anchor text, but not much more.

    Yes, links from your own domain do count, you'll have to have a large number of pages for them to count for much, but this can give you a serious edge over your competitors if you have 1000's of pages indexed.

    The main reason links from your own domain help is that they emphasize your important pages. A good internal link structure is essential to get your best pages to rank highly.

    Links from within your domain are referred to as internal links. And yes these are important to the rankings of your site. Pages targetting keywords with the most competition should have the most internal links pointing to them. Use of keyword anchors is also important for internal links.

    Internal links are important for not losing PR. A good internal network can supply deep pages with much higher PR.
