Hello. I just tested and wondered how strong is the backlink from Wikipedia? Since it is a very authority site and it is too easy to add the link you can easily add link from relevant Wikipedia article. What do you think?
Most of the articles have resources or external links. Find articles that are relevant to your site and then click [edit] button just above the section and here you go.
No if you don't make it look like spam or add keywords as a title. Also, your content must be unique and good.
That link has no value in SEO. Wikipedia has default no follow tag to it. But you may get some traffic. But according to my research Wikipedia is very unsuccessful in IM.
Wikipedia can be a great tool for SEO. 1st of all DO NOT SPAM it will not last. You can write a highly relevant article on the subject and post it to your website. Add an entry in wikipedia that uses your article as a source. Other people who then write about this subject may well link to you if quoting your information.
Who are you replying to? I think we all agree that the link off wiki is not going to give you juice but what I am saying is that the subsequent benefits can be huge.
Very true. I was very knowledgeable in a given field, had a niche-site related to it, and updated the wiki with more relevant information and sourced my own site as the reference. Of course it didn't help me in the SERPs, but it was a consistent amount of UVs monthly, plus quite obviously led to subsequent links. (Of course, my site was informational/useful, which is the main reason - 'content is king') It's exposure, and it can't hurt.
If you do like this Editing with Wiki many times, than Sure Google will block your IP Address for long time. And this Editing Showing only in your P.C.
Do you really think that all No Follow links provide no "juice"? Don't be so silly, there are exceptions on the web and Wikipedia is definitely one.
Have you got anything to substantiate that statement at all? I would love to believe you but having tested it myself & I have found no proof that wiki links give any love at all
I have a couple links in Wikipedia. They're listed within Google webmasters tools, I doubt I get any link juice from them but I do get traffic and linkage from elsewhere due to them. For reference, the main link in question was a clip from a popular current US cable television show of a scene that was cut. The scene was referenced in the article, I found the clip on Youtube, embedded it into a post on my blog and added the link. Been there for about 3 years now.
You can place backlinks in wiki, you just have to have a legit site with good content, not a bunch of ads.
