If the internal page has a pagerank of 0 but the homepage has a PR of 8 would it be worth it to link from the internal page?

Yes, but make sure the page where your link is placed is a PR 0 (indexed) and not a PR N/A (not indexed). Also, it will still be of some value, but don't expect it to give you the juice of a PR 8 link.

I want to clarify this a little bit.

The internal link of the website is viewed as a totally different website in Google's eyes based on my understanding. Therefore, receiving a link there is just like receiving a link from any other PR0 website. Any link is a good link, but a PR0 link is a not a high quality link that I would be purchasing if thats what you have in mind of doing.

PR no longer means anything. It's more about trust and there are numerous factors that determine a links worth. Google has changed the PR factor last month so no longer go by PR.

I would not go for such a link. You can get PR 0 link by a lot of free methods :) If you want to pay, make sure there is a lot of traffic on that page, otherwise it doesn't make sense at all.

Well I'm certainly not paying. I am on a sub-page of a site with a homepage PR8. The page has been created for my site so the page is brand new. I know that in time the PR of the page will rise.

But if the pagerank is no longer a factor and it's now more a case of trust then as long as the homepage is trusted (it's been around since the dark ages and has one of the best reputations around, Alexa ranking in the top 300) then my site should pick up some nice points off of it immediately right?

I see nothing wrong with getting a link from a pr0 site. If the homepage is a high pr, the site is reputable and the post is interesting, then there is a chance that over time, other blogs may link to the internal page, increasing both it's pr and traffic which in turn could become a valuable link for you.

I think this link will be more powerful than other links. High PR site shows that the site is good . Internal page will be considered more valued than just regular webpages launched recently.

Plus it's u/r now, I have the page on a pr8 site, I think when Google indexes it, it should get a fairly good rank, plus as they are now leaning towards trust being the most important factor, I reckon I will get a lot more from it than just a boost to my ranking. Not too shabby

From my own experience a PR0 page is a PR0 page...the PR juice is in the PR of the page where the link is placed, not in the PR of the home of that site

It is depend upon situation. I think if the internal page has PR 0 and it is not define as resources page, it will be helpful for back links whether the home page PR has 4 or 8. If it is PR4 or more of home page and internal pages connected with home page navigation it will be helpful if you get a link from there.

An internal link is still a good back link as long it is a dofollow.

The PR of that page is important where your site is goin to listed or listed. If the site having high PR and the inner page where your site listed have no PR, then it will be same as having PR0 link.
