links from one site

Hi, I'm new to this game and am just setting up my site (more as an hobby to be honest). I posted this before on the general site, but i think it was oin the wrong place! Anyway any admin feel free to delete my other post, and all aplogies for messing up.

Anyway my question is about google PRs, My father has a site that has a PR4 (main page) and hundreds of PR3 and PR2 pages. I'm sure that he'll give me a link from his (unrelated site) to mine.

Is it best just to have one link from this site from the main page, or to have a couple of links from the site? I guess the spiders will work out that links come from one site, therefore is there an optinum number of links to have from it?

    Cheers for the advice

Every little helps. Thats why people often do sitewide links exchanges.

That can help you get your site indexed quickly. Will also send more PR your way. But for good rankings, you need to get variety of links from variety of websites :)
