Links from Joomla menu

Hi there.
I am so new to this whole CMS thing. Today, I was looking over Joomla. I was considering installing it, but I saw that the links from the main menu are awful. For example, the "Team blog" url is like this:
http://www.joomla.org/component/option,com_jd-wp/Itemid,105/
Is there a mod rewrite to Joomla or something that could make the link more seo friendly? If this is a stupid question, sorry

But the most used is ARTIO JoomSEF http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,1063/Itemid,35/

yeas, of couse you can use sef urls with joomla.

there is an extension sef category category on official joomla sites.

i suggest you to look it

 

JoofSEF also works with VirtueMart too so if you have an online catalog you'll be able to ise SEF URL's there too
