I recently read that even if you link to your site from high PR domains, what actually counts is the PR of the page linking to your site and not the PR of the domain itself. So if the website is say PR8 but your link is from a page from the same site with PR0, it just as well can be from any other PR0 website. Is that true? What do you think?
Exactly, this is 100% true my friend. That's why link building is so hard for newbies. Can someone post links to high PR "pages" in which we can post our dofollow links? Thanks
Thanks for your answer. Well, I just subscribed to a "High PR packet" where you post your links but you actually create new profiles and so these are with PR0. So I guess it makes no sense to do all that work manually for a PR0 link. (Sigh)
Rubbish. With that mindset a news story linked to you from an interior page on the New York Times website wouldn't be worth it. I can tell you a link from USATODAY or NYTimes ( just one link ) can significantly impact your sites rankings. Most newbies shoot for ONLY high PR links which looks very unnatural to Google. Yes, quality over quantity but Google can tell natural vs. unnatural. You need links for a variety of sources spread out over days/weeks/months/years to truly have SEO ranking success AND they need to be from a wide variety of sources ( articles, news, blogs, directories, forums, etc. etc. etc. )
Yes, when we submit our link to high PR sites, it is very valuable rather than if we choose PR0 website.
The value of the link depends on the authority of the site and of the page itself. Therefore, a PR0 backlink from a major site like USATODAY is going to carry more authority then a PR0 link from a brand new blogspot site.
The algorithms of search engines like google are far more complex than what we can understand. They are working on it since the last two decades. Will they make it so insecure?
A site that has very high pr is likely to get a decent flow of traffic. Even if your link happens to be on a page with pr0 from the site can have a lot of authority and give you a bit of a bump. More so than a site with much less. Google tends to crawl some of these sites much more frequently and is likely to find your link much sooner. Many people are looking for dofollow backlinks though. Which can be much harder to find when you get up into the pr6+ range.
It is not right that google did not count the PR of the website. If you have publish an article to the EzineArticles then the new page created for your article will have 0 PR. But the PR of home page of EZineArticles will also count that is 6. If this is not right then why people are hungry to post their article on them. There are hundred of thousands of other websites are also available for this purpose. There is also one thing that, google also consider the worth of the domain. So, keep developing a list of great websites for your link building strategies.
Absolutely right, so called SEO experts are ONLY guessing. Real SEO experts are those inside Google itself..
Stop wasting time with PR .. Is just a number And all that mathers are RANKINGS/Traffic PR and Rankings have like 0 connexion ...
I completely agree with you. Just posting quality contents and traffic will come after you. You don't need to go after traffic.
Yes it is all waste, if you are trying to create a link on some inner page of a PR8 domain page with PR0, you will not at all get any link value. Instead you should try to get the actual PR8 link to become your site atleast a PR5 or PR6. Also even if the PR8 has 20 outgoing links, then the value or importance of the pagerank will be divided into those 20 links and you will get more lesser value
the benefit that comes from obtaining backlinks from pages with PR 0 on a domain that has a high homepage PR is that the domains possesses some PR that could be spread to the page which has your link turning your link in backlink from a page with PR.
